I’ve been dropping the ball on updating lately because I’m in the middle of a lot of stuff, but not finished with most of it. Keep an eye out for some more sweet prints, and actual fun illustrations in the coming weeks. Also, a legit portfolio page and a redesign of the ol’ doodle blog.
In the meantime, haave some more Addam’s Fam concept art. Which is kind of boring to look at, but surprisingly fun to make.

Do you know about how awesome The Art Center blog is? Now don’t get dismissive because I mentioned a blog. I know it’s not always fun to click links to blogs. However, this is not just some self-indulgent blog of someone’s drawings (re: this blog), but rather a blog that explores how to think as a cartoonist. It’s full of helpful tutorials about thinking in shapes, in lines of action, and using visual strategies for getting the most important point across.
I personally am what one calls a “linear-thinker.” I don’t believe this stops me from being creative, but rather that it means I employ creative problem-solving in a very process-oriented way. As a person that essentially collects strategies to employ in the face of different problems (especially in regards to my artwork), I think this collection of short, visual tutorials is really fantastic.
I found The Art Center because I was following the how-to blog of Rad Sechrist, a storyboarder at Dreamworks Animation. Looking through the archives over there is really helpful too.
